Ms. Sophia Rose Latino was born in Pennsylvania and has lived across the globe—including Florida, Sicily, Italy, and now Colorado. She began her martial arts journey at age 10, training in WT Taekwondo with a local non-profit in Florida. Since then, she’s earned black belts in multiple disciplines, including a 2nd dan in both WT Taekwondo and Tang Soo Do, and most recently, a 1st dan in Japanese Jujitsu—training she pursued while living abroad in Sicily, where she taught herself Italian to fully immerse in the experience.
Ms. Latino joined Ripple Effect Martial Arts in 2019 and has served as an instructor at the Florida schools. In July 2025, she will step into the role of Head Instructor at the Fort Collins school, bringing with her a vibrant passion for life and a deep commitment to her students. Known for her energy, compassion, and strong expectations, Ms. Latino believes martial arts is more than a sport—it’s a lifestyle that shapes people from the inside out.
She’s most proud of her perseverance, not just in training but in pushing through language and cultural barriers to continue learning and growing. Her goal is to help every student see their value, believe in their strength, and strive for excellence. She believes that through high standards and heartfelt encouragement, martial arts can empower students to become strong, confident, and grounded individuals—both on and off the mat.
Outside the school, Ms. Latino enjoys reading, rock climbing, singing, and traveling. She speaks and reads Italian, has worked as a veterinary technician, and is always seeking out new ways to grow—both personally and professionally. Whether she’s leading a class or exploring a new challenge, Ms. Latino lives with purpose, integrity, and an unstoppable zest for life.
